We pride ourselves on being a full service company offering full installations, maintenance, repair and certification.
The staff at Hearth & Leisure will prepare a quote for the installation of the unit and venting, using certified professional installers. We ask for photos by email to give an estimate of cost and then when the customer wishes to proceed with the install we prepare a more detailed quote to show all of the costs involved. Once we receive a deposit, the product is ordered in and the installer booked on a time that is convenient with the customer.
We carry ICC brand chimney in exterior insulated chimney, double wall connector pipe as well as Imperial single wall stove pipe. This year due to shortages, we have had to source out other brands of chimney to accommodate our clients. We stock 6″ pipes as this is the most common size used on wood stoves today.
A WETT inspection, which stands for Wood Energy Technology Transfer, includes a thorough inspection of all wood burning appliances such as stoves and open fireplaces, by a certified WETT inspector. These are required for insurance purposes to show that the system is installed according to code. Quite often these are requested when selling a home to show the prospective buyer that the unit is safe to use.
One of the best ways to determine that your wood heating system is safe, clean and effective is to hire a trained, insured and certified chimney sweep to conduct a thorough maintenance check each year. Professional chimney sweeps will clean the entire system and report any problems to you. They might suggest that it is time to replace the flue pipes, baffles, catalyst or door gaskets.
Once the wood burning season is over, we start booking chimney cleanings for our clients. This is usually around May and June and on into the summer months. We send out reminders by email to our past and present customers.
Pellet Stove Service
We want customers to be happy with their new pellet stove so provide phone support as well as home visits until the customer is comfortable using their unit. We also have a very knowledgeable technician on staff that can diagnose problems and install new parts if needed. Warranty from the manufacturer is also provided in the time frame allowed.
Gas Stove Service
While gas fireplaces don’t produce creosote, they do still need annual cleaning. Both propane and natural gas are clean burning gas fuels, so they don’t produce the same byproducts as wood, but they can still produce buildup that needs to be cleaned away.
We refer any problems or issues to our Gas Technician, Travis Russell of Crew Mechanical in Shelburne.
